Water extraction from a borehole — custom-built system
The PLC reads the water level and temperature from a sensor via Modbus. It also communicates with a flow meter that calculates the current flow rate and totalized volume. The unit works with both 230 V and 400 V pumps, and when a variable frequency drive is used, it controls the pump output to maintain the water level in the borehole. Measured values are logged and plotted on the HMI for process evaluation. A mini PC for remote management and control is included. It is used, for example, to verify a sufficient groundwater supply for a heat pump.
